| hey! it's been so long since i posted. hmmm june... what happened so far... joe and i had our 21 month anniversary (so for this year, it's every three months, and then it'll be our two-year anniversary soon, and then we'll celebrate with six months). we went to alexander's. their service is really good! but i was kinda disappointed by the food. we went to a place called donovan's in san diego, and THAT place had HELLA good food. maybe i should havve ordered filet mignon or something. but they had these good complimentary taster thingies, and THOSE were hella good. i started working. i'm still in training, and hopefully, i'll "get a raise", and not be in training anymore. i reallly love it! the kids are soooo great. oh, yeah. so i work at the Reading Clinic, and basically, i work one-on-one with a student (mostly they are in elementary school) who is have difficulty in reading, writing, spelling, sounding out words, etc. the training was really tough. there's a lot to learn. it's cool how the kids get it though. they're really bright, but they just haven't made the same connections and processes as the other kids in their class, and so we help them make those connections (such as the letter "p" making the sound /p/, or the differences when writing the letters "b" and "d"... because kids get confused by those a lot). it's really interesting, and a lot of work... but very rewarding in the end. still have school. most people are probably finishing up their finals this week... but i have my final on june 26th!!! NASTY, HUH? yeeeup. hmmm... my plans for the summer are to work full time (which will probably be SUPER TIRING,... but rewarding when those young, cute, bright children have that "ah haaaa!" moment). also YOUTH SUMMER RETREAT! yeah. i really was looking to do it this year. i thought i wouldn't have been able to, but they scheduled it so that i would just miss two days of work instead of four (or maybe i can miss like one and a half). but yeah. my heart is in being a counselor this summer. i'm in a good and steady place to be able to try to feed the youth kids, and also to be able to grow through serving them. I'M SO EXCITED :). but i realized that i don't know a bunch of the kids (there are a bunch of new people that i don't know), but frances said that there will be a bbq for us to interact with them and for the counselors to get more familiar with them. so i'm looking forward to that, too (it's at the end of the month). okie. i have to get ready for work. BYEE oh yeah. mr. joe turns 25 this month, too. wow. so old. :P hehehe i mean WISE |
